Then I reinstalled each game, patching to the latest version before installing the next. Made sure my entire system was up to date.įinally, I did a total uninstall using this guide to clean out every Sims file. Installed Showtime with the hope that it would update with that patch and fix the problem. Recreating the Sims 3 folder in Documents by renaming it and starting the game. Deleting all mods, downloads/custom content, and saved games. Patching base game to latest version, it was the only one that wasn't up to date.

I have all of the expansions with the exception of Showtime, and I have no stuff packs. Each time my computer is fine, all other programs and games are running smoothly. One more attempt with just regular gameplay, crash after about 40 minutes. I tried again, this time 20 minutes in CAS and freeze followed by crash. After about 30 minutes in CAS, the game froze and I had to eventually force close it. I hadn't updated, patched or added anything in that 2-3 month period. I hadn't played for about 2-3 months, and the other day I decided to play again.

To start off, my laptop exceeds the system requirements and until recently I haven't had any problems. Ok, so after many hours of attempts and continued frustration, I've decided to start my own topic. Sims 3 Freezing/Crashing - I've tried everything! SOLVED!!!
